Jazzy We Miss You

There are heavy hearts at The Machine Works today. After returning home from some morning errands Dani discovered that our beloved cat Jazzy had been hit by a car and died.

She was a wonderful member of the family and her playful antics will be sorely missed.

Dani spent the afternoon consoling the kids and trying her best to console herself. At bedtime Meredith appeared with her chin hung low and asked, "Daddy, can you get me some tape?" I said I would, and she produced a little poster she had made of her best friend. All the kids were restless and had a hard time getting to bed, so it turned into a slumber party of sorts in mom and dad's room; we snuggled and gave our other kitty, Lillipop lots of love, and drifted off to sleep.

We're going to miss her, that's for sure. And the next set of padded little paws that come home to The Machine Works for the first time will be hugged and snuggled tight.
