Wii?...Weeeeee!!

Insert the AV Multi Out plug on the Wii AV Cable into the AV Multi Out connector on the back of the console.

Insert the RCA plugs on the Wii AV Cable into the input connectors on the TV.

Insert the Sensor Bar plug into the Sensor Bar connector on the back of the console. (The Sensor Bar can be placed either above or below the TV screen.)

Insert the DC plug on the Wii AC Adapter cord onto the DC input connector on the back of the console.

Insert the AC plug into a 120V AC wall outlet.

After you have completed all steps of the setup procedure you are ready to use the Wii system.

Turn ON the power for your TV. The Wii menu should appear on the TV screen. If the Wii is functioning properly your children's eyes should glow red. Hand them the Wii remotes, kiss them on the forehead, and tell them you'll see them after college.

Sled, no sled...
Steep hill, or no hill...it doesn't really matter.

Hannah's Christmas program was wonderful! She smiled big, and sang all of the songs. She played the part of a Teddy Bear, and was convincing, sitting the bear on her head and waiving at us in the audience.

I gave Hannah a ride home after the concert. Right before my eyes popped out of my head, right before I adjusted the rear view mirror to see the expression on her face, right before I started to perspire, and just after I asked her, "Hannah, who's that boy you got your picture taken with?" Right in there, is where Hannah said to me, "He's my boyfriend, Dad! He's kind of like my first boyfriend, because I've never had a boyfriend before, duh!"

Cell Phones and Seeing Eye Dogs

I have a bad habit of talking way too loud on my cell phone. I think I need to shout because the phone is so small, or there aren't any wires, anyway...

I was walking through the mall this afternoon after running a few Christmas errands. Danielle was guiding me to the shopping target while I held my phone to my ear. While on my way out our conversation continued when I spotted a small cluster of people facing in my direction. They were giving directions, but I couldn't tell to whom. Then suddenly, walking straight toward me was a middle-aged woman and her seeing eye dog. At the exact same moment when she was abreast of me I pulled myself back into my conversation with Danielle. She was making a statement, and I agreed with her, so I said, in louder than necessary voice, "Right!" I heard the blind woman say, "Thanks!" And she hooked it and headed into The Limited.

Healed By a Kitten

Statistically speaking, a family of six is going to be pretty much sick all of the time during cold and flu season. It generally starts with one of the kids then rotates through the pack indiscriminately. As luck would have it it was my turn Wednesday; home in bed...yuck!

Today is Thursday, and I feel fine. So what's the key? Answer...kitties!

While I was laying in bed, about every 30 minutes Hannah would dart in the bedroom door with a fuzzy black ball in her arms. She'd be biting her lower lip, and look very focused, as she cornered the foot of my bed, on around to my side. Then she would simply place the kitty on my chest and smile at me. The first few times I told her to take the kitty away, and she did. But after awhile she had her brother Emmett bringing the kitty to me also.

Anyway, it took about seven or eight treatments, and I'm fine.

Here's the prescription:

Apply one kitty to the congested area for 1 minute, every 30 minutes, until congestion is diminished. Keep the kitten within reach of small children. Do not use kitten if it has been tampered with, or looks too scruffy. Store kitten at room temperature.

Rookie and Miley WELCOME HOME!

Welcome home Rookie and Miley! Yeah! There's lots of excitement at the Machine Works today.

Last week we headed out late at night on a rescue mission to get two newborn kitties that are now 8 weeks old.

After a lot of hugging and kissing and scratching and chasing and loving and running and jumping...we named them Rookie and Miley. Rookie, named by the boys (sounds tough), and Miley from the girl's favorite TV show. Both have black faces with a streak of white down their nose, and white paws, but Rookie has more white on his back paws than Miley. Simple.

We're starting them off with just a simple routine of love and constant holding, followed by a lot of running and chasing. A program that we used with both Lollipop and Jazzy that seemed to work very well.

You can imagine how excited we were when we found out that they came with a few tricks of their own, namely, a fetish for pancakes with syrup. The girls decided to just monitor the situation, but Hannah intervened and checked to see if Miley knew how to use a fork. Well, she can't quite hold it, but the girl is certainly refined.

Next week we'll see if they like Mexican cuisine.
